5 Wedding Details your Guests Won’t Notice

Not everyone will remember every small detail about your wedding. We’ve compiled a list of five things your guests simply won’t notice. It’s not because they don’t care – they do – they just want to see the happy couple get married. Feel free to scale back on some of these wedding details if you are looking to simplify and save money during the planning process.

One. Engagement Photos. This is a controversial one. Many couples love to take engagement photos to use on their save the dates. Apart from featuring those images on the save-the-date cards, these images are more for you and your fiance and families to enjoy personally. They can run up a hefty price tag as well. Your guests won’t notice they are missing.

Two. Elaborate Save the Dates. This brings us to number two on our list: save the dates. The purpose of the save the date is to notify your guests your wedding is coming up and where it will be held. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to accomplish this. We like simple, but sweet. We might opt for fancier save the dates for destination weddings when it is necessary to include information like hotel blocks, maps, etc…

Three. Ceremony Aisle Decor. Check with your ceremony location before you opt for aisle decor. Many chapels and venues have rules regarding certain types of decorations. For chapels with vintage, wooden benches, they might not allow you to even decorate for fear those decorations will scratch the seating. A good rule of thumb is to know what you are allowed to decorate with. The actual ceremony does not last long, so your guests will not necessarily miss out if you decide to skip on aisle decor. Save yourself some money and put that toward your centerpieces at your reception.

Four. Favors. Your guests attend your wedding to celebrate your marriage. We think favors tend to be outdated and would prefer to see our brides spend their money on something else. Unless you have something special up your sleeve, you can forgo the overdone wedding koozie in lieu of something else on your wedding budget.

Five. Expensive Table Linens. There is no doubt in our minds that beautiful linens can really light up your reception venue. You don’t have to break the bank by splurging on expensive linens. You can pick a couple of tables that will be visible (cake table, gift table, sweetheart table) and opt for nicer, more expensive linens on those. Your guests will not notice whether their tables have the fancy linens – and we don’t think they will mind if they don’t.
