For our last Friday Favorites, we talked about some of our favorite bridal guides. Today we wanted to talk about some of our favorite wedding skin care products. It’s a question we get asked quite frequently. So how do you prep your face for your wedding day?
Aesthetician and skincare brand founder Kate Somerville says that ideally you should start treating your skin three to six months before your wedding. This gives you time to work out any imperfections. We recommend finding a great spa near you. If you are in Houston, we love this one.
Our aesthetician recommends getting monthly facials leading up to your wedding. In fact, she’s had some brides start coming in one year out. I did one last facial two days before my actual wedding day- and had been going monthly three months prior to the wedding. We went with the hydrafacial which left my skin hydrated and toxin-free.
To rid yourself of any acne, we recommend salicylic acid-spiked Paula’s Choice 2% BHA Liquid, a wallet-friendly exfoliator that yields instant results.
For hydration and to fix and any fine lines or wrinkles, we recommend Clinique’s repairwear laser focus.
We also love Skinceutical’s weekly hydrating masque to keep your complexion hydrated before your big day. This came recommended because it contains high concentrations of hyaluronic acid and vitamin B5 – optimizing moisture infusion in targeted areas.
SkinCeutical’s retexturizing activator is a great serum to use daily because it gently exfoliates and replenishes moisture. In fact, we love this pick so much, we still use it – even after the wedding.
We would love to hear some of your favorite wedding skin care routines!
