Resolutions all 2018 Brides Should Make

New year, new engagement ring! Resolutions can be a pain – especially if you are the bride-to-be. Are you the type to make resolutions for the year ahead? If so, we’ve come up with some resolutions for 2018 brides for all the health and happiness in the year ahead.

Set Realistic Expectations. You know you have a wedding to plan, but maybe you haven’t set a date. Take the time (seriously) to think about how long it will realistically take you to plan a wedding. Don’t overburden yourself by setting an unrealistic time frame. Maybe expectations have to do with fitness goals. Overdoing it can leave you stressed and tired. Instead, commit to hitting the gym (or the pavement) a set number of days or hours each week. Stick to it. Maybe even set aside 15-minutes for some ab work in the morning or before you go to bed. All of these are easily attainable.

Stop Comparing Yourself. Some of the most beautiful weddings we have seen – are the most unique. Your wedding doesn’t have to fit into a cookie cutter mold. Choose the colors, the location and the dress that appeal to you the most and your identity will shine through. Maybe the flowers you like aren’t the most popular flowers appearing all over social media and Pinterest boards. That’s okay. Go with what you like and your guests will appreciate the time you took to make your day unique to you and your fiance.

Let People Help. This is one of the most important resolutions. Maybe you are like us and have a hard time delegating because you like to do it all yourself. Listen to us when we say – you need to throw that idea out of the window. If you don’t want to be over-stressed and over-burdened, you will need to delegate tasks to other people. When you hire vendors, let them do what they are experts at. Don’t micromanage. If you have smaller, time-consuming tasks (like stuffing wedding invitations) that you can delegate – do it.

Lastly, remember to enjoy the process. There are definitely some aspects of wedding planning that can be a drag (making the guest list), but so many parts of it are fun (picking the perfect wedding dress, cake tasting, picking your favorite flowers). It’s a once in a lifetime event, so enjoy the ride.
