We are back today with our last installment for top bachelorette party destinations in the U.S. We’ve talked about the West Coast, Texas, Nola and today, we have some fun in the sunshine state in : St. Augustine, Florida. Why is this a top pick? Well, St. Augustine sits on the Atlantic coast of northeastern Florida. The weather is fantastic and it is a great spot for the bachelorette who wants to enjoy some fun in the sun.
Where to stay? First of all, we think an Airbnb is the best choice for this location. There are so many fun, beachy homes listed that we think you should give them a shot. Also ideal for larger groups. The St. Augustine Beach House is a waterfront hotel located on the shores of Vilano Beach. All rooms are oceanfront, so it’s a great option if you want to stay in a hotel on the water.
What to do? We recommend the Tasting Tours, which a food and wine tour of the city. It’s a great activity for everyone to partake in. They have various options to choose from including a barrels and kegs walking tour, a carriage tour and a corks and forks tour. The Schooner Freedom is a 76-foot tall ship – an authentic replica of a 19th century blockade-runner. They do private charter or day sails. We think that would be such a fun activity for a group. If you want to go kayaking, inside Anastasia state park is a contracted kayak rental. You can rent kayaks or paddleboards for the group. We also think a beach day sounds just as relaxing as any of the activities we mentioned above. Grab some lunch to go and bring it with you for a day at the beach. The rooftop bar at San Sebastián Winery is fun as is a tour of St. Augustine Distillery with a meal afterwards upstairs at The Ice Plant. Visit the historic St. George street for some shopping!
Where to eat? For breakfast/brunch, try the Maple Street Biscuit Company – hello fried chicken biscuit sandwiches! For lunch, visit The Floridian, which offers Down-home Southern Comfort Foods, and lighter, healthier, vibrant and creative dishes–with many vegetarian options. For dinner, we say Harry’s Seafood Bar and Grille, which is a staple when you visit. It overlooks the bay, so the view will be spectacular. Centro Piano Bar and Restaurant, which is located in historic St. Augustine, is a great spot for a nicer dinner. Stay awhile because they feature drink specials and a live DJ after 10 p.m. For cocktails, try the Tini Martini Bar, which also overlooks the bay.
