Wedding Wednesday: Houston Reception Venue

In honor of the Houston Astros’ World Series win, today’s reception venue can be found deep in the heart of Houston. We think this location is such a special place to host your reception. We do want to lead off with the fact that The Bayou Bend Collection does not allow you to host your ceremony though. Although, that’s no worry in Houston, because there are so many places close by – and the Bayou Bend Collection is so centrally located. It is the former home of Houston civic leader and philanthropist Ima Hogg, and the collection is “one of the finest showcases of American furnishings, silver, ceramics, and paintings in the world.”

It has ample space – 14+ acres of organically maintained gardens in Houston’s historic River Oaks neighborhood to be exact. While the rental fee is a bit pricey, with a mandatory donation to Museum of Fine Arts, Houston Leadership Circle, it more than makes up for that in looks. It’s outdoor space holds up to 350 guests, so this is ideal for a larger wedding. Events must end by 10 p.m.

Vendors: outside vendors are allowed, but you must use their venue-specific vendor for beverages.

Parking: complimentary

Bridal Suite: no

Tents: Tents with flooring are required

So while you will need a big budget to get married here – the historic venue is a hidden gem right in the middle of Houston.
